"I almost wish i hadn’t gone down that rabbit hole and yet it’s rather curious, you know, this sort of life!"

Neutral Palette

Here's another winter look from my winter lookbook that I'm working on. I chose an all neutral palette with different hues of nude...plus a hint of copper. I wore this fit on Christmas Day. It was last minute. Hope you all enjoy this look!

Polka Dots and Prosperity

Polka dots. Polka dots and New Year's. I'm filipino and we have New Year's superstitions. Wearing polka dots and having round fruits on New Year's signifies "prosperity." Ever since I was a kid, my mom would always tell me to wear polka dots on New Year's...and to jump up and down shaking coins and banging pots and pans when the clock strikes midnight. Supposedly, jumping up and down at midnight will help increase your height and making lots of noise will scare away evil spirits. Sounds pretty crazy, right? But it's what I grew up knowing and I still believe in these superstitions. Do you have any New Year's superstitions or are us Filipinos just crazy?

I used to have New Year's resolutions, but as I'm getting older I've come to the realization that they don't last...just like a fad diet you try for like a week and just give up. Maybe my resolutions should be more realistic or not so drastically different from the way I've been the previous year...I don't know. This year, I've set little resolutions like picking clothes that fit me because I tend to pick things bigger than my actual size. I know that may sound like a dumb new year's resolution, but hey, it's do-able for me. What are your New Year's resolutions? Share them with me in the comments below.

New Year, New Places

Happy New Year! New year, new faces, new places, new goals (or continuing the same goal you've always had for yourself). This is the year I graduate nursing school, the year I'm going to keep moving towards my goals.

The day I shot this outfit, we drove down some road in Santa Clarita where there were huge properties, farms, etc. Then, the road took a few windy turns and led us up these mountains somewhere in the Angeles National Forest. We stopped at this picnic area which had a beautiful view as seen in these pictures. I've never done anything like this before...just drive down some road and end up somewhere beautiful. It's kinda like Alice in Wonderland. She was curious and followed the white rabbit down the hole and ended up somewhere rather...curious. This is how I felt that day. Kap and I just went down this road not knowing exactly where we were going and we ended up somewhere rather curious and breathtaking.

Here's a "Cali Winter" outfit for you. As you all know, I live in Southern California where it's pretty warm year-round. Yeah, we do have some cold days in the winter time but it's nothing compared to how cold it can get in The Bay or in the east coast. The leotard is from Shop Tobi and this is one way you could wear it...with Disco Pants. Or if you'd like to wear it on a night out with your girls, you can wear it with a form-fitting skirt and your favorite pair of heels. It was kinda chilly in Santa Clarita so this outfit kept me warm.

I feel like wearing this faux fur coat makes every outfit feel gangster as fuck. I love winter because I get to wear this jacket. I look ridiculous if I wear this in the summer. Although, being a fashion blogger might be a good excuse haha. Hope you all enjoy this post. I've got more "Cali Winter" outfits coming for you soon.
