From the Trunk Vans Sk8-Hi

So, this past Friday I had the opportunity to collaborate with my good friend, Romar Uy of FROM THE TRUNK. He's from my hometown, Carson, California and I've known him since high school. I remember him getting into the whole graffiti art scene during high school and since then, his art has flourished. I've attended one of his and his partner, Jason's, art shows several months ago and let me just say, this kid is very talented and creative. He is always coming up with new ideas and concepts regarding art. We have both worked together for a local street wear brand, IMADRI, last summer and he even created a design for some tees and a snapback. Now, he's working on customizing Vans using spray-paint showing off his background in graffiti art. Not only did he gift me with these awesome pair of Sk8-Hi Vans, but he also photographed this entire photo shoot and filmed me (video coming soon!). These Vans are in their "ILLICIT" Colorway, peep how I styled it:

For this shoot, I wanted the kicks to stand out, so I had the idea of putting together a monochrome outfit. At first, I wanted to wear denim on denim, but Romar and I decided to really have the shoes stand out so I wore black on black. I am wearing an American Apparel baseball tee, American Apparel Riding Pants, and what kind of look would this be without my famous headwrap which almost had the same color palette as the kicks.

Please be sure to check out the site FROMTHETRUNK.US, release date will be announced soon and the video from this shoot will be up soon, as well. Shoutout to Romar, thanks so much for my shoes and for a fun shoot as always!

Street Diaries ShopDandJ.com

Hello curiouser readers,
Last week, I had the chance to collab and do a shoot with ShopDandJ.com and style their clothes in a new series that they're doing called, Street Diaries. It's a series where they team up with local fashion bloggers and have them pick their favorites from the site and show off how they would rock those pieces. I had the opportunity to partake in this series and here are the looks I went for:

First look ft. Black Azalea Bralette, Game Changer Baseball Jersey, and Hang Low G Chain.

My own items include the Married to the Mob snapback, sunnies from 80s Purple, rings from H&M, Sk8-Hi Platform Vans and American Apparel Disco Shorts.

Second look ft. Violet Daze Bralette, Off The Chains Necklace

My own items include sunnies from UO, Jeffrey Campbell SoireƩ Heels and Skirt from Forever 21.

Last look ft. Kate Moss Tee by Eleven Paris

My own items include sunnies from 80s Purple, American Apparel Easy Jeans, American Apparel headwrap, Jeffrey Campbell Scully Heels

So, a few weeks ago, I get an email from Donna saying she wanted to do a shoot with me. It was the week of my finals of my first semester of nursing school and I was SO ready to start shooting again and back to blogging this summer so I was super excited when I saw her email. I was following their instagram already anyway and so when I found out she was a co-owner of the site, I was even more excited to shoot for them. When she told me to choose anything off their site that I would wear for the shoot, I was overwhelmed because the site had so many cute items, it was hard to choose. I remember her words in the email to "stay true to your style." So that helped me pick items that I would wear and incorporate with my looks for the blog. So I went with two bralettes and a tee. Definitely things I would buy and wear normally and I think I did well styling these three items and staying true to how I would normally look.

We shot in various places in Downtown Santa Ana, which is fairly close to where I live in Huntington Beach (OC Area). I was surprised at how many dope spots we found to shoot in. Donna and Joanne Vo(Owners of the site) did such a great job choosing perfect spots to shoot in with every look. They helped me style the looks and fix little details with all my outfits. I would just like to thank them for this awesome opportunity. Also, I would like to thank Andy Vu for being a chill photographer with dope photography skills.

Thank you, Donna, Joanne and Andy for making me feel comfortable in front of the camera because, believe it or not, I was very camera shy during this shoot and meeting all of them for the first time.

Please check out these two fashionable sisters' website and buy your clothes HERE. They sell various streetwear brands like my favorite, Married to the Mob, Eleven Paris, Crooks and Castles, Dimepiece, Love+Made, etc. as well ass cute accessories and trendy bralettes. Hope you all like the three outfits I put together!
